I’ve been using Google Latitude for a while with Google Maps on my mobile (old school Nokia E71) and often wondered how to send location data from the phone to the APRS network, as there didn’t seem to be any applications to-do so unlike for Android and the iPhone.

Then I came across a blog post on APRS.fi which allows you to send APRS data using Google Maps & Latitude setting it up was simple just created an account on aprs.fi and associated it with my Google account and within minutes I was showing up on the map as 2E0SQL-10

So far I’ve been using it while out cycling and also when we went to Kempton.. no doubt have it running while away on the Isle of Arran in May so watch out for more info.
